59TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF THE KUALA LUMPUR TOURISM ASSOCIATION
Kuala Lumpur, 31 July 2024 | The Kuala Lumpur Tourism Association (KLTA) is pleased to announce a new EXCO line up for the term 2024– 2026 at the 59th Annual General Meeting (AGM) hosted at the prestigious Kuala Lumpur Tower on July 30, 2024. Syed Azhar bin Syed Nadzir, representing Elang Wah Sdn. Bhd (EWSB) was elected as the new President.
Syed Azhar bin Syed Nazir is not a new figure in the KL tourism scene, and his venture, EWSB, is the primary operator of KL’s popular double-decker bus service, KL Hop on Hop Off. Syed Azhar graduated from Universiti Teknologi MARA (formerly Institut Teknologi MARA) and was awarded a Diploma in Public Administration in 1994. He then attended a course at the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and became a Member of the Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (MAICSA) in 1999. He pursued a Master’s Degree at South Bank University, London, and completed a Master of Science in Corporate Governance in 2001.
Syed Azhar presently serves as the CEO and founder of EWSB, a company that established KL Hop on Hop Off as the leading brand in Kuala Lumpur with over two decades of expertise.EWSB has made a substantial contribution to the tourism sector by providing a range of services to suit the demands of both domestic and foreign tourists. EWSB has solidified its standing as a significant player in the travel and tourism sector, advancing traveler destinations in Kuala Lumpur and the surrounding areas and aiding in its development.
The 59th AGM was chaired by Farouk Nurish, the outgoing President who represents Rimba Way Eco Tourism Sdn. Bhd. The AGM has successfully elected a new lineup to lead the Association for the term 2024-2026. The newly elected Executive Committee members are as follows:

The Kuala Lumpur Tourism Association (KLTA) was inaugurated in 1963 to promote Kuala Lumpur as a premier tourist destination and enhance the experience of both local and international visitors. The newly elected Executive Committee is committed to continuing the work of their predecessors, focusing on sustainable tourism development, industry collaboration, and advocacy for members’ interests.
The KLTA appreciates the departing committee members for their unwavering commitment over the past two years. The Association looks forward to a fruitful term with the new leadership team.
